How Much Does a Vinyl Wrap Cost?

When it comes to pricing for vinyl wraps, there are a few key factors that can impact the final cost of your project. At Hooligan Wraps, we offer a range of vinyl wrap options to suit every budget and need, and we are dedicated to providing our customers with the best value for their money. Here are some of the key factors that can impact the cost of a vinyl wrap:

  • Size of the vehicle: The size of your vehicle is one of the main factors that will determine the cost of a vinyl wrap. Larger vehicles tend to require more wrap material and take longer to install, which can drive up the price. However, smaller vehicles can also be more complex to wrap due to their curves and contours.

  • Type of wrap material: The type of wrap material you select will also impact the overall cost of your wrap. We offer a variety of wrap materials from leading brands like 3M and Avery Dennison, in a range of colors and finishes including matte, gloss, and satin. Premium materials tend to cost more than basic options, but they can also offer enhanced durability and performance.

  • Complexity of the design: If you have a complex or intricate design in mind for your vinyl wrap, it may take longer to install and require more material, which can increase the cost. On the other hand, a simple, solid-color wrap will generally be less expensive.

  • Additional services: Depending on your goals and budget, you may also choose to add on additional services such as ceramic coating or paint protection film. These services can help to extend the lifespan of your wrap and protect your vehicle from damage, but they will add to the overall cost of your project.

To get a more accurate estimate for your vinyl wrap project, we recommend contacting us for a free consultation. During this consultation, we will discuss your specific needs and preferences and provide you with a customized quote based on your budget and goals.

As a rough estimate, a full wrap (covering the entire exterior of a mid-size vehicle) can range from $2,500 to $5,000 or more, depending on the factors listed above. A partial wrap (covering only a portion of the vehicle) will generally be less expensive, starting at around $1,000. However, these prices can vary significantly based on the specific needs of your project, and we encourage you to contact us for a more accurate quote."

The Process of Installing Vinyl Wraps

At Hooligan Wraps, we are the experts in vinyl wrap installation, and we follow a detailed process to ensure a paint like finish every time. If you're considering a vinyl wrap for your vehicle, here's an overview of the steps we take.

  • Preparation: Before we begin the wrapping process, we start by preparing the surface of the vehicle. This involves thoroughly cleaning the surface to remove any dirt, dust, or debris, as well as making any necessary repairs to the body of the vehicle. We use a pH-neutral foam cleaner and de-ionized water to remove road grime and dirt without damaging the glossy coating. To prevent micro scratches and micro marring on the clear coat, we use professional-grade, 350 GSM microfiber towels when hand washing. We use one towel per panel and make sure to avoid cross contamination. To prevent water spots, which can permanently etch and damage the glass or clear coat, we rinse the vehicle with de-ionized water. This type of water cannot spot because it has had minerals such as calcium and magnesium filtered out. To remove industrial fallout, iron, and carbon from the surface of the vehicle, we use Iron-X, which creates a chemical reaction to release these contaminants from the pores of the surface. If left untreated, these contaminants can embed in the surface and cause damage to the clear coat, plastic, and rubber.

  • Design and layout: Once the surface is ready, we move on to the design and layout phase. Using advanced computer-aided design (CAD) software, we create a detailed mockup of the wrap to ensure a perfect fit.

  • Printing and cutting: With the design finalized, we print and cut the wrap film to the precise specifications of the vehicle.

  • Application: The wrap film is then carefully applied to the vehicle, starting at the front and working backwards. Our team of experienced installers takes great care to smooth the film over the surface of the vehicle, eliminating any bubbles or creases for a seamless finish.

  • Finishing touches: Once the wrap is fully applied, we trim the edges and make any final adjustments. The vehicle is then thoroughly inspected to ensure a perfect finish.

  • Maintenance: Proper care and maintenance are essential for preserving the longevity of the wrap. We provide our customers with detailed guidelines for washing and caring for their wrapped vehicles to keep them looking their best.

  • Optional steps: Depending on the condition of the vehicle's paint, we may also perform a paint clay bar decontamination to smooth the paint and remove contaminants that cannot be removed by hand washing. This step can help to remove any imperfections that could show through the vinyl wrap.

  • Ceramic Coating (optional)

We always recommend having your wrap ceramic coated. Though this is an additional cost it will increase the life of your wrap by preventing UV damage and will significantly increase the ease in maintenance of keeping it clean. The biggest benefit in ceramic coating vinyl wraps is it is very hydrophobic. It will repel water, dirt, tar and many other chemicals or debris. Water spotting is always a problem with vinyl and ceramic coating helps dramatically with avoiding water spot damage.
